Aaliyah is Making Her Way to Streaming
The late Aaliyah will finally have her music available on Spotify and all other streaming services starting August 20th. The 1996 classic One in a Million will arrive August 20th on Spotify, followed by her self-titled album and more work.
Fans have wished for this for years, but Aaliyah’s estate did not want the music publicly available via stream. “There was a conversation we had that didn’t want the music out, and whatever my sister told me, I tried to do what she wanted me to do,” Barry Hankerson said during a Billboard interview. It isn’t certain as to why this feud between estate and industry has gone on, but it is certain that something isn’t quite right about it.
