X-MEN The Animated Series is Officially Returning to Disney Plus with New Episodes in 2023

One of the most culturally impactful animated series ever, X-MEN, is now officially returning with new episodes in 2023. The continuation of the legendary series is being referred to as X-MEN ‘97. For fans of the original series, yes, the voice actors for many characters are returning. Cal Dodd returns to voice Wolverine. George Buza returns as Beast. Catherine Disher returns as Jean Grey. Chris Potter returns as Gambit. Alison Sealy-Smith will once again voice Storm. Lenore Zann will of course voice Rogue as well.

The return of top tier voice acting is also something to be excited about. Some of the most unique voices in the show will return and make X-MEN fans feel right at home. Just a few of the original cast will not be returning. Norm Spencer, who voiced Cyclops, died in 2020 at age 62. Meanwhile, Alyson Court, who voice Jubilee, and Cedric Smith (Professor X) will also not be returning. The voice acting is back. Now, we can only hope the killer musical score and conceptual writing return with even better animation.
