In Typical Corporate Fashion, Netflix Suspends Trans Staffer for Defending Their Community

After Dave Chappelle’s controversial Closer special, the trans community was vocally displeased for obvious reasons. Just as Dave Chappelle has the right to spew offensive, and quite frankly dangerous, rhetoric, the trans community certainly has a right to respond and explain why said rhetoric is dangerous to their community. We are currently living in a year that could be the deadliest and most violent towards this community ever, as reported by Axios.

Netflix responded to three employees speaking out against Dave Chappelle by suspending them. These employees have been reinstated but the message is clear. A community is telling you words from your most profitable creator are dangerous to them, and you suspend them. Once again, Netflix is showing a great example of a corporation prioritizing profit over the well-being of people. Content is about nothing but profit to those at Netflix, clearly.
