Without regulations on AI, we can face a threat of innovation that we have never witnessed previously. The Lensa app is an AI editing and AI that creates art via photos of yourself that you submit.

The Lensa app happens to also be from Russian developers. When considering that an app like this is surely utilizing data unethically, there is no telling how that data is being used, and could even be a threat to national security. There are multiple concerns when it comes to this app and AI.

However, the most disconcerting factor perhaps is that we are willfully using something that could be a threat to digital artists, and artists alike. Supporting AI art propagates a future where we prioritize the convenient rather than supporting people in their livelihood. The equity of artists must be prioritized right now. If we allow AI art to be present, especially without regulation, we allow millions of venture capital dollars to flood the scene, presenting a danger to artist equity.
